Work management software

The one tool that replaces the nine tools you bought to replace meetings.

Here is how it started.

Priya Castellane, who founded Ninefold, counted her browser tabs one Tuesday. Nine. Tasks, chat, documents, the calendar, the wiki, a spreadsheet that was really a task list, the video call she was supposed to be on, and a folder of files called Final. The ninth tab was a tab for tracking tabs.

She closed it. Then she opened it again to log that she had closed it. She spent the next three years building something to close it for good. What it replaced is listed below. Count carefully.

The nine tools

Ninefold replaces eight tools. It also connects to all eight, so you keep them.

Every work tool promises to end the sprawl. Then it ships an integration with each piece of the sprawl, because that is the first thing a buyer asks for on the demo call. We did the same. We just put it on the home page.

So the count is still nine. The difference is that one of the nine reads the other eight and tells you what moved, which none of them ever did for each other. Here is what that looks like in practice.

What it does

Four things happen when you use it.

Tasks

You type a task. It gets an owner and a date and appears in a column. When someone drags it to Done, the person who asked for it gets one message. Not a notification, a digest and an email about the digest. One.

Write the Q3 roadmap Done

1 message sent to Marcus. 0 notifications. 0 digests.

A task has three fields. We tested a fourth in 2025. Completion fell 11 percent, so it has three.

The reader

Connect your chat and your documents. Ninefold reads them overnight and surfaces the four messages out of 300 that contained a decision. The other 296 stay where they were, which is where they belong.

marcus can we move the report to thursday

priya thursday is worse, everyone is in the other meeting

marcus fine, Mondays at 9 then, and we stop sending the Friday one Decision

sam ok

Thursday's chat, read overnight. The reader is right about 83 percent of the time. The other 17 percent is usually Marcus agreeing to something as a joke.

The Monday report

At 9:00 every Monday, Ninefold writes the status report from what actually moved. Nobody is asked to write it. Nobody is reminded to read it. Last week's was 140 words long, because that is how much happened.

Monday report · 2026-09-28 · 140 words

Moved: 6 tasks. Done: 4. Slipped: 1, the calendar question, third week running.

Decided: the report ships Mondays at 9:00. The Friday one is retired.

Nothing else happened. This is the whole report.

A Monday report. Quiet weeks produce short reports. There is no setting to change this.

The meeting prompt

Create a meeting and Ninefold asks what decision it is meant to produce. If you can't name one, it offers to make a task instead. Since launch, 61 percent of people have taken the task.

New meeting: Roadmap sync, 45 minutes, 7 people

What decision will this meeting produce?

Make it a task insteadHold the meeting
The prompt. It has turned 4,218 meetings into tasks. The other 39 percent went ahead, and most of them were fine.

Pricing

Three plans. The middle one is the one.

Pricing pages have three columns because three is the number that makes the middle look reasonable. Ours works the same way. Solo and Enterprise exist so that Team looks like the sensible choice, and we would rather tell you than make you work it out.

Solo

$0 per month

For one person. Everything in Team except the other people.

  • 1 user
  • Unlimited tasks
  • 2 connected tools
  • A Monday report, addressed to yourself
  • No card, and no reminder to add one

Changelog

What changed this year, including the part we changed back.

  1. 2026-02-124.0.3

Outage, 131 minutes. A certificate expired. The reminder to renew it was in a calendar we had replaced.

  2. 2026-04-074.1

The Monday report now ignores tasks created and completed within the same minute. These were not work. People liked the sound.

  3. 2026-06-234.2

Moved the Archive button from the top right of each card to the bottom left, where the cursor already is once you have read the card. Eleven months of research.

  4. 2026-07-024.2.1

Moved the Archive button back to the top right. Nine days of email.

  5. 2026-09-154.3

Dark mode is now the only mode. 97 percent of you already had it on. The other 3 percent have been written to.

Uptime, trailing twelve months

99.97%

The missing 0.03 percent is 158 minutes. 131 of them were one Thursday in February. The other 27 came three or four minutes at a time and produced no email.

Questions

Questions people ask on the demo call, with the answers we give.

Does it replace our chat tool?

No. It reads it. Chat is where the decision gets made, and Ninefold is where it gets written down so you can find it on Thursday. Turn chat off and people make decisions in the comments of a spreadsheet, and nothing reads those.

How long does migration take?

An afternoon for the data. About six weeks for the habit. For those six weeks someone will keep updating the old tool as well, and we don't stop them. Around week five they stop on their own, usually because nobody noticed.

What happens to our data if we leave?

You export it: a spreadsheet and a folder of documents. We know how that sounds. It takes four minutes, and the button is on the settings page rather than behind a call with someone whose job is to talk you out of it.

Is there an AI in it?

One model, the reader, which picks decisions out of chat. It does not write your tasks, name your projects or suggest a goal for the quarter. We tried that for a month in 2025. Every team got the same goal.

Why is it called Ninefold?

The tabs. We considered Onefold, which was honest about the ambition and wrong about the result.

Can we get a discount?

On Team, yes: pay for the year and two months are free. On Enterprise, it depends on how the call goes, and the call is the part Dana is good at.

Open one more tab.

The trial asks for an email address, not a card, and takes about a minute. Priya still has nine tabs open. The ninth is Ninefold, which makes it, technically, the tab for tracking tabs. She has made her peace with that.
